I had MoonWinks on my ‘to visit’ list for a few years now and I finally made it in for breakfast. It was delightful! Situated in the idyllic downtown Dixboro, it has an aesthetic that is more modern yet seems to fit right in. The space is clean and bright, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. And the food was top quality. Elevated bagel sandwiches anyone? They have fußball out on the patio and a tavern next door. Definitely coming back to try the tavern one day.
Great place for lunch and a relaxing break. The space was cozy and welcoming, with just the right balance of openness and warmth. I loved the color of the couches and tables, which added to the cozy vibe, and I enjoyed being surrounded by people crocheting, reading, chatting. I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich and an iced latte. The chicken pesto sandwich was good-the chicken was soft, juicy, and well-cooked. The iced latte was just okay; it was stirred, but I prefer it to be layered with milk and espresso separated.
Stopped for a light brunch/lunch after a Dr. appointment in the area. Such a cute, quaint location. Clear and concise menu and very friendly staff members! We ordered a bagel sandwich and a cinnamon roll to eat in. Everything was fresh and delicious! The bagel sandwich was put together perfectly and not just slapped together - it took several minutes for it to come out but I prefer that anyway for quality food. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Comfortable and fun setting! I would definitely willingly return anytime!
Great cafe/coffee spot for meeting with friends, grabbing lunch, and getting some work done. Most tables seat at least 4, but as a party of one, no one bothered me about occupying "too much space." I ordered the Italian sandwich for lunch and got some work there at a nice table with lots of natural lighting. A few features I enjoyed: Community board, bathrooms for customers, easy access to Wifi and outlets, outdoor seating options, free parking lot. Next time, I look forward to trying their coffee and bagels - they serve local Hyperion coffee.
Took my kids in today for the first time, and was disappointed there wasn’t more of a kids menu, they basically secretly told us they can make grilled cheese but that’s it. My son got a bagel with cream cheese and my daughter wouldn’t get anything. I got a club sandwich and gave her some, which she ate, but I wasn’t going to spend upwards of $15 for her to pick at something. The club sandwich was very good, and I enjoyed it. They don’t have table service, you order at the counter and take a number and find a table and they bring it out to you. Maybe we were just unfamiliar but we had to ask for napkins and silverware. The cafe itself is kind of on the small side, but very cozy and well done inside, bright with lots of windows. We ordered a caramel brownie to go and it is huge! Bigger than my hand! It didn’t taste like caramel and it was so dry, more like a dry piece of coffee cake than a moist brownie. Very disappointing since the brownie was $7! Not sure if we’ll be back, but nice for a variety of deli sandwiches and nice country location in Dixboro.
My friend and I stopped by last weekend on our way to the Ypsi Flea and everything was amazing! We split the Grecian something bagel sandwich and loved it. I tried the caramel apple scone (to die for) and my friend had the lemon raspberry tart, which she said was very good too! For my latte, I had the lucky charms with oat milk and as a barista myself I have to say it was amazing!! We walked into the tavern side at first and were pretty confused but I think one of the owners was in there and he pointed us the right way lol. If I’m ever back in the area I would definitely stop in again.
